Most of CS Hyde's products are made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is made of Teflon™ fluoroplastics. This is a unique fluoropolymer with mold release properties and extreme Temperature and chemical resistance. These requirements are usually used for conveyor systems, bagging machines, manual L-shaped strip sealer jaws, automatic sealing equipment, heating elements, ovens and drying belts in the packaging industry.
The PTFE coated glass fiber tape is made of glass fiber coated with PTFE. Glass fiber provides excellent dimensional stability, while the PTFE coating provides a smooth, friction-resistant release surface.
This tape is ideal for various packaging applications that require mold release, extreme temperatures (up to 500°F), and chemical and environmental resistance.
PTFE coated glass fibers can be used to cover heat-sealing jaws and components on a range of equipment, such as shrink wrap/L-shaped rods, blister packs, and form-fill-seal (FFS) machines. The tape is available in standard or premium grades, with silicone or acrylic adhesive, with or without lining. For packaging applications that require lower elongation and higher tensile strength, turn high-density PTFE with silicone adhesives with a thickness ranging from 0.002 inches to 0.01 inches can be used. For applications that require greater weight, density, and quality, FAT PTFE can provide thicker specifications, ranging from 0.02 inches to 0.06 inches, with acrylic or silicone adhesive backing. The TFL-__T series is a glass fiber fabric saturated with PTFE (Teflon™) dispersion, laminated to a PTFE (Teflon™) film, and coated with a high-temperature pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive. This kind of tape is mainly used as the release surface of heat-sealing machines, blister forming and forming filling equipment. UHMW polymer provides a unique combination of properties, its average molecular weight is ten times that of traditional high-density polyethylene resins, while also providing excellent abrasion resistance, high abrasion resistance and PTFE-like smoothness.
UHMW can be used for packaging applications involving friction, wear, corrosion, adhesion, sliding, surface protection, noise reduction and sliding. CS Hyde offers four different types of glass fiber fabrics, including standard, high-grade, mechanical, tear and wrinkle resistance. Each type has different characteristics to suit the specifications required by different applications.
