Interstate Connecting Components, a division of Heilind Mil-Aero, is also a leading distributor of military aerospace connectors and accessories, and now offers M28876 circular optical fibers with black hard anodized (BHA) PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coating Connector. These connectors are precisely designed by Amphenol Fiber Systems International, a leading manufacturer of optical fiber connection products.

The BHA PFTE plating connector meets the requirements of MIL-PRF-28876 revision F, which replaces the revision E specification for olive cadmium plating. Because it is very hard and almost chemically inert, the BHA coating is not affected by many corrosive compounds. This makes the connector ideal for applications such as naval vessels, oil and gas, mission critical combat and communications systems, mobile tactical shelters, and harsh industrial applications.

Although ICC now offers value-added assembly on the new BHA plated connectors, customers can still order the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) version of the old olive plated connectors.

Amphenol Fiber Systems' M28876 connectors can be used with all qualified single-mode and multi-mode M29504/14 and /15 terminals. The back shell is available in right-angle, 45-degree and 90-degree configurations, and utilizes the manufacturer’s proprietary Quickloc capture system.
